The body is an amazing organism made up of various cells that each have a role in maintaining health. These cells make up the tissues and organs that are part of all eleven major body systems. In order for these systems to function properly the body requires certain amounts of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. The amount of each depends on the individual and their unique needs.
The goal of the body is to maintain optimal health for the cells, this is called homeostasis. This is accomplished through controlling body temperature so that it’s an average of 98.6, regulating blood sugar, maintaining optimal PH for body tissue, and sustaining a healthy amount of fluid in the body.
