Clouds

Clouds are an a beautiful part of life that’s often overlooked.  They provide the rain that nourishes our life and helps the environment grow and flourish.  On a different level, they allow for creativity and ever changing opportunities.  Some may think that clouds are gloomy and cold, but it’s all in the way we perceive them.  The gloom provides nurturing rain and sunny days wouldn’t be as nice without the gray days to compare them to.  The cold weather brings out the warmth in us and helps us come closer to one another for warmth.

Sometimes we can be so busy looking at what’s in front of us that we forget to look up and see possibilities.  Take a moment during the day and gaze up at the sky and create images in the clouds.  This can help calm and relax the body and mind.  If there aren’t any clouds that catch your eye you can check out the pictures at cloudappreciationsociety.org/

Enjoy Life

Live each and every minute of life.  Take a minute everyday to find the beauty that’s all around you and enjoy it.  Many of us spend our lives busy with work, family, and ourselves.  We blink and before we know it the day is done, then the week, month and year.  Years go by so quickly that we wonder where the time has gone.  Spend time looking around at the environment you’re in.  Use your senses to take in the splendor that you’re surrounded by, that includes looking at others as they pass by, feeling the ground under your feet, hearing the sounds of your area, smelling the air, and tasting the food you eat.  Be in the moment each and everyday and don’t forget to look up.

Relax

It’s important to take time out of the day to relax, especially in our fast paced world.

Relaxation can look unique and different to each individual.  To some it’s enjoying a well prepared healthy meal while others it may be a warm aroma infused bath.  For those that don’t have the time, even listening to soothing music or lighting a candle and taking in its scent would be beneficial.  Exercise in moderation can also calm the brain and body.  Or even taking slow deep soothing breaths can be helpful.

If you don’t take some time out for yourself, it can lead to deterioration in health.  It’s essential to schedule some time for yourself to cultivate health and well being.  Find something that you enjoy and do it!

Nature

Getting out in nature can refresh the mind and re-energize the body.  You can enjoy the outdoors at any time of the year, as long as you dress appropriately.  In fact, snow fall can be quieting, rain can be rejuvenating, the sun can be invigorating, and wind can be purifying.  If you’re short of time and can’t immerse yourself in nature, look around there are hints of nature everywhere.  If you find that your environment lacks natural elements, invest in a small plant or animal.  This will brighten your days and bring you closer to nature.
