Massage is great for the body.  It can improve circulation which can strengthen muscles and remove toxins that build up in the body.  It relaxes muscles that have becomes tense from exercise and/or stress.  Massage is great for relieving tension.  The body can build up tissue called fascia in various areas depending on lifestyle, posture, and body habits.  Getting a massage can break up this tissue to allow better movement and less adhesions in the body.  There are various modalities or different kinds of massage that may be beneficial for your body.  Some of the major modalities are described in detail.
